Hi! My name is Jasmine Parent and I am the founder of I Am Worthy Wellness.
I am a Certified Nutrition Coach, Certified Behaviour Change Specialist, Social Worker, and mom of three!
I started out on my own health and wellness journey in January 2018. Like many people, I made a new years resolution that involved an overall "weight loss goal". I was 28 years old, mother of 2 under 2, "morbidly obese" and had more failed 'diet' attempts than I'd like to share. I finally felt ready to try again, and this time with a different approach. This approach was deeply rooted in self love, and self reflection. I realized I had spent the past 5+ years as a professional social worker encouraging others to live their lives through a 'strength based' lens, focusing on and giving energy to the positives and the aspects of life that were within their control; yet I wasn't applying these principals to my daily life.
Of course there were physical changes that had to be made: moving my body more, consuming different foods, but none of these things are possible without being able to make decisions. CHOOSING to exercise, CHOOSING healthier options on your plate. Every lifestyle change, starts with the mind.
I created I Am Worthy Wellness in 2019 after recognizing that this aspect of the health and wellness / fitness industry was being neglected. I was continually having the same conversations with people over and over again: "I want to change this about myself, I know what I have to do, but I just can't get out of my own way", or "I will set a goal, I stick to it for a few days and then just give up".
It is not uncommon for people to express a desire to change, and often possess the knowledge of WHAT to do, yet making those mental and habitual changes, and having them LAST becomes problematic. The mental and emotional focus that is needed to change ones overall lifestyle is extremely important and the process in which we go about these changes needs to be thought through to ensure sustainability.
My goal is to work WITH YOU to determine your goals, and more importantly the PROCESS in which you will achieve those goals. Whether they be physical, emotional, mental, or a combination of all of the above, you are worthy of the life you desire.
